TAX ASSESSMENT/REAL ESTATE

The payment of taxes, while necessary, is not always straightforward.  Especially, when you add the complexities of valuing real estate for the purpose of taxation.  Whether a residence or a complex commercial enterprise, Pennsylvania legal principles require that like properties are taxed similarly and only pay their “fair share.”  While taxing authorities work diligently to tax properties appropriately and determine the fair market value of property, the law allows for appeals to be taken to ensure that the values placed on properties by the taxing authorities are accurate given current market conditions.

As former clerks for the Commonwealth Court and the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County, and solicitors for the Lehigh County Assessment Appeals Board, RepkaMazin has been involved in thousands of cases spanning more than three decades with real estate tax assessment and exemption issues, before county assessment boards,  in trial before the Courts of Common Pleas, and in appeals to the Commonwealth Court.

The Firm works with a number of appraisers that are certified to perform valuations of different types of properties and ensures that the team employed for each case is individually tailored to present the unique characteristics of the property in an understandable and comprehensive manner aimed at achieving the goals of clients.
